Birds and Travel Mini Series: Fabulous Flamingos
The blog post Did I just Become a Birdwatcher was posted on March 07, 2015. That was the last you saw of bird-watching on my site. It was the last I had thought of it, but my fascination grew.
Unaware of my growing bird obsession I had begun admiring the borderless, free-traveling feathered friends above me. Somehow they began to represent a stark contrast to the cautiously regulated travel we all participate in, and their fearless freedom continues to taunt me.
In an effort to appreciate their beauty I’ve written a mini birdwatching series covering a range of birds and a randomly cohesive series of thoughts related to their wanderings.
Today, we’re admiring flamingos. I recently learned they migrate, a bit like me, from my homeland in winter to expat village and back again.
I am aware that I cannot call myself a bird photographer and please be kind. Birds are elusive, and my lack of talent and high-quality lenses make the photos a bit of an amateur adventure, but somehow that’s the beauty of life. It’s a bit of an amateur adventure.
As a new golfer, I love this photo because it is clear that I am on the green.
As a birdwatcher...epic fail.
Who else has a random hobby they are nurturing while they blog or travel through life?
