Salalah Highlights During Khareef (Photo Post)

Southern Oman's Dhofar region has many beautiful sites to visit in addition to the luscious greens I've mentioned previously (Misty Greens In Southern Oman).  We braved the crowds to see the sites and it was worth it.

My friends are still standing in the upper left for scale.  This place is enormous.

When the Khareef fog lifts you can see the ocean near the horizon.

We toured The Museum of Frankincense Land , which also gave us access to walk among the ancient ruins at the site of Al-Baleed. So strange to be able to walk freely, without ropes or restrictions, in a place so sacred.

Apparently, I wasn't hiding very well since the camera was aiming at me when I jumped up.

While I recommend only a few days in Salalah to cover the sites during the Khareef Season.  We hear that the rest of the year is beautiful too and hopefully, we'll have a chance to dive in their famous "fishbowl" someday.
